About Me
I am half German, half Canadian and was raised in a small village in Northern Germany surrounded by horses and dogs. We spent our family holidays either at the North Sea or visiting my grandparents in Canada.
I need to be in nature to recharge my batteries. In my daily life it’s mostly the dog walks that help me stay balanced.
I played competitive volleyball for more than 15 years. It shaped my values and leadership skills big time. And whenever I moved countries, Volleyball - and other sports - became my entry ticket into the new culture.
I am a citizen of the world. Having lived, studied and worked in 5 countries on 4 continents, my heart feels like a beautiful puzzle of different cultures. This has shaped my sense of identity tremendously. And I’m always trying my best to embrace new people and places with an open-mind and open-heart.
My CV is not necessarily a linear one or let’s rather say: it’s written by my curiosity and my eagerness to learn new things. I quit jobs twice without new ones lined up. I accompanied my husband to South Africa without a work permit. And more… That’s real freedom for me: being able to live in alignment with my values, my heart and my gut.
Non-linear or not: I have a profound and very diverse professional background in the international FMCG industry. I’ve worked 16+ yrs in various senior marketing & supply chain functions for leading FMCG companies.
At the age of 42 I decided to change careers and studied to become an Integral Coach in South Africa – in the ‘Silicon Valley of emotions’ (quoting one of my South African mentor coaches here). This was followed by an “Enneagram Practitioner” and a LEGO®Serious Play® Facilitator.
Living in alignment with my energy resources. When I became a Mom, I learnt that I needed to be very conscious of how I spend my energy and time - at work and at home. This quote by Michelle Obama is my helpful reminder to stay focused on what matters most to me: “You can have it all, but not everything at once.”
I’m in love with a rainbow nation. From 2017 until 2021 I lived with my husband, our 3 kids and sausage dog “Flink” in beautiful South Africa. The warm-heartedness and kindness of its people as well as the abundance of natural beauty simply blew us away. We all became proud South Africans by heart.
Still thinking about #10 ;)
And this is what I do and love
As Integral Coach, I'm coaching leaders from very different parts of the world. Most of them are working parents as well.
I support them to build an authentic and intentional career and life. A career and life on their own terms. And yes, a life which often feels like going against the current.
But which is aligned to their needs, energy resources, strengths and core values.
Where work and (family) life can naturally co-exist.
My values - my North Star
My work and my life are aligned to these values:
Integrity being honest with myself and others, having my outer world reflect my inner world, “what you see, is what you get”
Kindness being warm and considerate towards others
Responsibility being reliable and dependable and accepting the consequences of my actions and decisions
Inclusiveness creating a welcoming environment that embraces human differences and offers respect for everybody
Curiosity life-long-learning, it’s never too late to try new things
Courage moving forward even when I feel the fear; embracing and sharing my vulnerability
